Jitterbug Contest

The Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association presents its annual Jitterbug Contest during the Bellefonte Cruise. Up to twelve couples compete to win cash prizes ($250, $100, $50). To participate, come to the main stage in front of the Courthouse between 2:00 and 2:50 pm on Saturday, June 20, and look for an old fellow in a straw hat. He will register you as a contestant and give you a number to wear (to help the judges pick the winners). Four tunes will be played. The first is just a warm-up; the second and third will help the judges select the finalists, and the final song will determine who is first, second, and third. The contest is quick, easy, lots of fun, and possibly remunerative.
