Bellefonte e-Learning Academy junior, Ryan Lombardo, is an avid hockey player. He is a goaltender for the 16U AAA Pittsburgh Predators team. Recently, the Johnstown Tomahawks team picked up Lombardo as an emergency player for the North American Hockey League. This past week, the Tomahawks’ starting goalie and second string goalie were hurt and suspended from the game, so Lombardo was thrown in to play! His team didn’t win but his coach was very impressed with his goaltending skills. He may have to continue playing on both teams until the suspension is lifted for the 2nd string goalie.
